Get your photo's in, a new contest is just about to start.

Past Contests

Photo Contest #3: Prize winner was Linda Gheen of Lewisville, Texas. Her winning photo received 66 percent of the votes.

Photo Contest #2: Prize winner was Linda Gheen of Lewisville, Texas. Her winning photo received 76 percent of the votes.

Photo Contest #1: Prize winner was John Stoffel from Rantoul, Illinois. His winning photo received 48 percent of the votes.

Official Rules

This contest is ongoing with a new one beginning every few months. While the first contest is being voted on, the second contest will begin accepting submissions for the next voting period.

Voting will take place on-line and tallied. Once the votes are counted and winners determined, your photo's will be forward to Fire Rescue Magazine for publication on their web site.

Eligibility

The RescueNet/Fire Rescue Magazine photo contest is open to all photographers with the exception of employees of RescueNet, Fire Rescue Magazine, sponsoring firms, and their immediate families. Photographs that have been published are not eligible.


Judging

Once the judging period begins, users wishing to vote will have the opportunity to vote on-line. The votes will be tallied at the end of the voting period and the winners will be posted. Shortly after, the prizes will be forwarded to the addresses specified when the photo's were submitted.


Publication

Fire Rescue Magazine and RescueNet reserve the right to publish all photographs submitted with appropriate credit to the photographer. The photographer retains full copyright to his/her images.


Claim of Ownership

Contestants must own all rights to the works submitted and model releases are the contestant responsibility. If there are any discrepancies as to the correct owner of the photograph, RescueNet reserves the right to eliminate the picture from the contest.


Responsibility

Special care will be taken in handling all entries. However, RescueNet, Fire Rescue Magazine or the contest sponsors cannot be held responsible for loss, damage or delays occurring during transportation or judging.


Acceptance of Rules

Participation in the contest indicates your acceptance of the contest rules.

Submissions

Photos can be submitted in the following ways:

by email - publishme@rescuenet.com

by ftp - ftp.rescuenet.com/contest (anonymous login, password is ’guest’.)

    If submitting electronically, your photo should be scanned at 72 DPI and limited to 4x6 inches in size. We will crop to the appropriate size. Use GIF, TIF, JPEG, or RIFF (we use Painter 4) as your graphic format. Also, name the file in a manner that corresponds with your last name (i.e. Jack Smith would submit a GIF file as smith.gif).

by mail - Prints up to 4x6 will be accepted, mounted prints will not be accepted.

    A self-addressed, stamped envelope must be included if you want your work returned. For maximum protection, prints should be placed between cardboard with the warning, "PHOTOS. DO NOT BEND" on the envelope.

With all submissions you should include the following information:

    Full Name
    Physical Mailing Address (We have to send a winning prize to someone!)
    Description of photo (25 words or less, please.)
    email Address (if you want people to contact you directly)
Submit this information in your email message, or in a text file (smith.txt) or written on a piece of paper inside the envelope.

Basically, get this information to us anyway you can! Oh, one more thing, we prefer that you use IBM formatted diskettes.

Note: For size limitations RescueNet may lower the resolution on your photo to publish on the Internet. If you win, we will send Fire Rescue Magazine your original photo if provided. RescueNet and Fire Rescue Magazine will not be responsible for photo quality or incompatible electronic formats. You are responsible for making sure that your photo is the best possible resolution.
